Registering to play in the NSTL
Every player must be an LTA Advantage member and must be linked to their Club before they play. Rule 3.3.
It is free and takes about ten minutes. Please do not skip any of the four steps — most problems come from one being missed.
Step 1 — Register with the LTA
Register for free LTA Advantage membership.
If you already have a membership number, go to Step 2.
Step 2: Log into your account — Add your Club as your venue
Go to Your Venues and add your Club.
If your Club is already listed but you are still not recognised as one of its players: remove the Club, save, then add it again and save. This resets the link. It is a known fault and this is the only way to clear it.
Step 3 — Complete the Competition Eligibility Form
Open the Competition Eligibility Form on your Personal Details page.
You must select either Male or Female as your competition gender. No other option can be accepted for the NSTL.
Read this before you submit. The form cannot be edited once submitted. Any change afterwards has to be requested from LTA League Support. Please make sure you have chosen the gender for the league you are entering.
Your competition gender is not your account gender
These are two separate settings and they do not affect each other.
The gender in your account settings is yours to set and change however you wish. It has no effect on how you are listed as a player, provided your competition eligibility gender is set correctly.
Step 4 — Complete the Competition Profile form
These are contact details that will appear on the league, if you are the assigned captain or club admin.
If it still does not work
During the three-week registration period before the season
Club contacts and captains: if a player has completed all four steps and is still shown as an Unknown Player, or their gender shows as “U”, please do not send them to us one at a time.
Gather all your problem players into a single list and send it to Pippa, the NSTL League Co-ordinator. We take them to the LTA together, which is far quicker than opening a separate case for each.
During the season
You can also write to the LTA league support team directly. Include the player’s full name, your Club, and their LTA Advantage membership number, and ask them to resolve it.
